Most People Don’t Fail

On Monday night I had the opportunity to speak to the Detroit Lakes chapter of the American Business Women’s Association.

The room was full of builders, leaders, business owners, risk-takers, and people carrying more responsibility than most others realize.

As I drove home afterward, one thought stayed with me.

A lot of us spend more time waiting than we realize.

Waiting for clarity.
Waiting to feel confident.

But I can honestly say confidence has never shown up first for me. Not once.

It usually shows up after you move.

After the uncomfortable conversation.
After the risk.
After the first step.
After deciding to move before having every answer.

I’m not confident because of success.
I’m confident because of conviction.

Most people don’t fail.
They just never decide.

Sometimes fear disguises itself as “waiting for the right time,” and before long we’ve spent months or years circling something we already know we need to do.

A conversation.
A change.
An opportunity.
An apology.
A dream that keeps coming back around.

You move first.
Then confidence shows up.

Maybe this is your reminder that you don’t need to have everything figured out before taking the next step. You just need enough conviction to move.

Hope this encourages you to move toward the thing you already know you need to do.

Not done,
Brent
