Me, too, Lucille … me, too. Researchers collected more than 15,000 regrets from people all around the world this past year. The No. 1 lesson discovered is only three words long … which I’ll share shortly. It all began with a “what if” text proposal and led to an unforgettable weekend getaway with childhood friends. While our paths have taken each of us our separate ways since high school graduation, one thing has always united us: genuine love and care for one another. We reminisced and we looked ahead, we laughed and we cried. Whether over dinner, in the hot tub, on a hike or pickleball court, the conversations seemingly circled back to “we see you, we are for you and we believe in you” … friendship at its very best. And this memorable experience took place only because one of us (not me) enacted on that 3-word “lesson discovered” from the aforementioned findings from 15,000 regrets: “Always reach out.” Always reach out … even if you think it might be awkward or long overdue.
