“How can we help you succeed in 2023?” That was the question proposed by one of my friends as we dined and decompressed at Mo’s after a long and intensive day of coaching. The question caught the rest of us by surprise. You see, the vast majority of our time as business coaches is focused on helping our clients bring their goals to fruition. But not here, and not now. On this night, it’s about the tribe gathered around the table. “What’s one big goal you have for 2023, and how can the rest of us at the table help you achieve it?” One by one, each colleague passionately shared their ambitious dreams as the others listened intently, taking notes and nodding with approval and encouragement. We all need cheerleaders in our life. When you have the right people in your tribe, you begin to believe that anything is possible. Heck, I coulda said, “I’d like to be the next Queen of England” and they would have quickly started to reverse-engineer a strategy of brining that to fruition. (that wasn’t my goal) It was a magical night for our tribe and assures 2023 will forever be changed now that goals are on the table and out in the open. So, it begs the question, who’s in your tribe? Who are the people who are all-in for you and allow you to be a cheerleader for them? As someone who speaks about such matters and coaches people every single day in business and life, you need to find your tribe.
